Windsor Classic Semis

The Windsor Greyhounds battled a solid Leeton team on Thursday night to see who would make it to the championship against Tipton on Saturday. It turned out to be 32 minutes of hard fought basketball. Both team played hard and never gave in. Cameron Elwell led the Bulldogs with 20 points white Alex Anstine put in 14. The Greyhounds proved to be too much on this night however, as a capacity crowd came out and cheered on the Greyhounds to a wire to wire victory. Daniel Sanders led a balanced attack for the Hounds with 16 points. Ryan Hamilton put in a double-double despite being in early foul trouble with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Zane Anstine had 10 points, and Derek Riggs contributed 9 points--all of which seemed to be big plays for the Hounds. Dillon Johnson handled the ball magnificently against the Leeton full court press and led the Hounds with his composed play at point. The Hounds will play Tipton Saturday night at 7:30 for the Windsor Classic Championship!

Green Ridge

The Windsor Greyhounds finally put a full 32 minute performance together Monday night against the Green Ridge Tigers as they were in control the majority of the game. The Greyhounds received a solid game from their bench with Matt Madole getting a double doube with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Austin Palmer also came in off the bench and showed some nice ball handling as he contributed 7 points. Chase Drenon also came off the bench to give solid minutes for the Hounds. Daniel Sanders led the Greyhounds with 26 points, hitting three 3 pointers in the process. Freshman Zane Anstine scored 13 points for the Hounds as he continues to improve as the season goes along. Leeton

The atmosphere was electric Tuesday night as the Windsor Greyhounds played an intense game against rival Leeton. As expected it was a tough, hard fought battle the whole game. The Greyhounds were up by 3 at halftime, but due to some nice offense supplied by Cameron Elwell (20 points) and other Bulldogs in the second half, the Hounds ended up on the short end of a 61 to 54 defeat to the well-coached Bulldog team. Daniel Sanders led the Hounds with 28 points. Ryan Hamilton had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Zane Anstine and Dillon Johnson also contributed 5 points a piece. The Windsor Greyhounds will compete again in their own Windsor Classic Tournament this week at Windsor High School. Check the Windsor Basketball website for game times!

Warsaw

The Windsor Greyhounds were unable to overcome early foul trouble and lost a close one last night to the Warsaw Wildcats, 66 to 60. The Greyhounds were led by Daniel Sanders who finished with 21 points and Zane Anstine who added 10 points. Derek Riggs led the Greyhounds with 7 rebounds. The Wildcats were put over the top by some hot shooting from Clint Schwach, who finished with 22 points—including 4 three pointers (3 of them coming in the fourth). Despite only making four field goals, Corey Stackhouse added 24 points by going to the free throw line 16 times himself.

Appleton City Tournament

The Windsor Greyhounds fell to the Butler Bulldogs last night 70 to 52. The game was much closer than the score would suggest with the Greyhounds only down 2 late in the 3rd quarter. The fourth quarter would belong to the Bears however as they were able to pull away from the Greyhounds. Jon Cravens led the Bears with 16 points and Seth Carmichael chipped in 11. Ryan Hamilton had a big day for the Greyhounds with a 22 point, 13 rebound performance. Daniel Sanders and Zane Anstine also had double figures for the Hounds, scoring 12 and 10 respectively. Derek Riggs contributed 8 rebounds for the Hounds.

The Windsor Greyhounds were in action again in the Appleton City Tournament against Rich Hill. The Greyhounds took the victory 70 to 48. Rich Hill played a solid first half, however, and found themselves within 3 of the Greyhounds at halftime. The Greyhounds outscored Rich Hill 43 to 24 in the second half to pull away and get the win. The Hounds were led by Daniel Sanders who had 20 of his 28 points in the second half. Dillon Johnson and Ryan Hamilton also were in double figures for the Greyhounds with 13 and 10 points respectively.

The Windsor Greyhounds lost a tough one in the last game of the Appleton City tournament to Tolbert Academy. The Hounds got off to a good start and found themselves up by ten at halftime. A rough third quarter did the Greyhounds in as they got outscored 24 to 10. Acosta and McCray scored in double figures for Tolbert Academy with 17 and 15 respectively. Daniel Sanders led the Greyhounds with 13 points. Dillon Johnson and Ryan Hamilton also contributed 7 points each for the Hounds.
